Shay Mitchell is an actressmodeland businesswoman from Canada. Most well-known is her being the character Emily Fields in Freeform's Pretty Little Liars. In Toronto she studied acting lessons after achieving the success of modeling and dancing. Mitchell was able to land commercials along with acting roles as a guest in TV shows. Her breakthrough came, however, when she was cast in Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. The critics as well as her fans were impressed with her acting. She then made her mark on the world of film with films as DreamlandMother's Dayand The the Posession of Hannah Grace. Her part in the thriller with a psychological theme "You" led to more recognition. As well as acting, she's ventured into the world of writing. Together with Michaela Blayne, she co-wrote an adult novel called Bliss. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario with her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. Her birth date was 10th April, 1987. Her mother is Filipina and her father has Irish as well as Scottish heritage. Her cousin, Mitchell has the name of Lea Salonga who is a famous musical theater performer and actress. When she was a kid, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary after which she transferred to West Vancouver Secondary School. In the final stages of her teenage years, she began modeling for different companies across the globe. The model traveled to Barcelona and Bangkok before returning to Toronto for a course in acting.
